Hobbies/Interests: My hobbies include playing music, hiking, skiing, bicycling, running, and traveling.

What do you enjoy most about teaching? I most enjoy teaching students how to create, share their work, and be good citizens.

What do you find the most challenging about teaching? Inspiring the occasional student who does not want to be inspired is one of the most challenging aspects about teaching.

Best tip for new teachers: Do your best to be energetic, creative, imaginative, and patient while caring about each individual enough to learn about them.

Best tip for career teachers: Keep investing in others and finding new ways to recharge your batteries as well as new sources of inspiration.

Favorite piece of advice for students: Always do your best, put on a smile, and work hard to be a positive role model for others.

What being a Gold Star Teacher means to you: Receiving this award is such an honor! I feel that it reflects the energy and creativity I invest in my students and school. To me, being a Gold Star teacher means that I continually strive to be a positive, creative role model for my students, always going the extra mile to make my subject, music, come alive for my students.
